Vinyl Gold plays in Seattle at Seamonster Lounge!

Last night we played in Seattle for the first time, at the Seamonster Lounge. The bartender, David, was so friendly and so was everyone else we met! I really hope we can play there again, soon.

Can you believe that several of my friends from high school in the 90’s came to see us tonight? So did my college friends from CWU! By the time we finished our last set the room was packed and I think we all had fun. It was great to catch up with a few friends before we rushed out the door for the long drive home. We safely made it in one piece, by the way.

It was extra special for me to have the opportunity to share this project with people I’ve been doing creative things with and dreaming dreams with for years. I heard “I’m proud of you” from two special people, and that means everything. Let’s do this again soon, please.

Vinyl Gold at Jimmy Mak’s

Well, we did it! We played our debut show at Jimmy Mak’s. Let me tell you, this is one of my bucket list goals checked off. I, Sarah, sang my original songs on the stage at Jimmy Mak’s. This is not something that I *ever* thought would happen! There were a lot of supportive texts and Facebook messages throughout the day, and I appreciate every single one. I thought we sounded good on stage, and our very friendly crowd was warm and seemed to have a good time! Thank you to all the folks that bought us drinks and food, and stuck around to enjoy The Mel Brown Septet.. We truly felt the love. I really hope we can play that room again, soon. Here are some pictures!

Vinyl Gold at Everybody’s Brewing

White Salmon, WA knows how to throw a party! Vinyl Gold took our show on the road for the first time last night, and headed out into the Columbia Gorge to Everybody’s Brewing. The crowd was ready to drink and dance, and I think we all had a really fun time together.

We met a singer named Amber Nelson, who was brave enough to step out of the audience and onto the stage to sing with Sarah. We met many wonderful folks, and we hope to see you again, soon!

New live Vinyl Gold recordings!

Mark has threatened my life asked me to please remove the old Vinyl Gold recordings that were on our Reverbnation page, and replace them with the new ones from our recent show at Biddy McGraw’s! Consider it done! Let us know what you think! We have some fun shows coming up in January – JIMMY MAK’S on 1/20 – and some other things in the works, so make sure you come back to visit and become our Facebook pal. We hope to see you soon!

Vinyl Gold and Space Leech at McMenamin’s White Eagle Saloon

Vinyl Gold was pleased to have Jarred Venti sit in with us tonight on bass. Between a couple of early tunes, an audience member yelled out “that bass player is funky as SH*T!” So I guess we all know where Jarred stands with our fans! We really appreciated how quickly he picked up the material, his super friendly and professional attitude, and his funky and fantastic playing. I’m sure we’ll be seeing him again. (That’s him on the right)

Another crazy surprise was that Sarah’s sister Kim brought her a huge floral crown to wear during the show. Kim just opened her own floral design business called Hardcore Florist, and totally lives up to the name. If you can imagine it made of flowers, Kim can make it. There was talk of maybe doing a whole set design for us in flowers. Summer festival nostalgia, anyone?

After Vinyl Gold wrapped up, our friends Space Leech took the stage. They are a band that’s new to Portland, and really fun. Two Space Leech members are also in Vinyl Gold – Mark and Cam. We had a great time putting the two bands on one bill, and hopefully we’ll do it again, soon!

Vinyl Gold at The Laurelthirst

It’s hard to believe that it has already been a week since our show at The Laurelthirst. Highlights include having friends and family in the audience, some epic solos by the guys, and singing my original songs in front of people for the first time. We had an outpouring of support for the music, and we can’t say thank you enough. We’re looking forward to a couple more shows next weekend! First up, at The Thirsty Lion Downtown on Friday, Oct. 17th, and then on Sunday night from 8-10pm at Mississippi Pizza.

Here are some pictures from The Laurelthirst – I really hope we get to play happy hour there again, soon!
